Bringing The Music Works Brand to Life

Never forget a recommendation again.

Never forget a recommendation again.

I’m forever being told “you’d love this”, and forever forgetting what it was. Notes apps, screenshots, a half-remembered name in a group chat. Nothing I tried did this one job properly, so I built it.

Kyud is a vault for everything people recommend you: films, TV, books, music and games, all in one place. Add something and it pulls in the cover, the synopsis and a trailer, with links out to where you can get it.

A few decisions I made on purpose

It isn’t a tracker. No episode counts, no watch history. Plenty of apps already do that. Kyud is for the moment before, so it does one job and does it quickly.

Everything lives together. Recommendations don’t arrive sorted by format, so neither does Kyud.

It’s built to be cheap to run. Discovery refreshes overnight instead of on every visit, and each item’s details are stored once instead of being fetched again and again, so it can grow without the costs growing with it.

That’s how I work: spot the problem, work out what the product should and shouldn’t be, then make it. I designed, developed and shipped Kyud myself, working with Claude. It’s live and working, still in beta, and I’m tweaking it as I go.
